THE LAKES OF DANBURY,NEWSLETTER

LAKE LINES
Matt Webb with 8 lber. Striper.  Quite the accomplished fisherman. Matt is excited about fishing and that’s what it is all about.

Hope everyone had a nice, safe Memorial Day weekend.

We want to take this opportunity to announce the arrival of six bright new bass boats sponsored by Skeeter Bass Boats.  These boats are equipped with Minnkota trolling motors and Lowrance depth finders.  One of the boats is fully equipped including a Yamaha motor.  This is a much-appreciated additional asset to The Lakes of Danbury.  Many thanks to Skeeter Bass Boats, Jeff Stone, and their associates.

We would also like to thank all our sponsors including Academy along with Dennis Kreiger, A. J. Blanchard, Al Cortez, and all the Academy reps for all their help.  We appreciate each and everyone of you.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS:

I have been noticing rods, while helping to load and unload equipment, and finding many unbent

barbs on all types of lures at The Lakes of Danbury.  At least ten members have brought me broken off line with lures and worm hooks with the barbs not bent.  I have also personally found two lines while fishing myself and have had members catch fish with bait still lodged in the mouth with barbs not bent.  Under no circumstances can this continue.  These fish are too valuable to all of us.  We are not fishing for fame and glory here, and it is not a BASS Master tournament….we are a catch and release facility for fun and pleasure.  Therefore, I will be personally enforcing these rules.  I have seen more floating fish in the past few months than I have seen in the past five years.  Members, you know the fishing conditions at The Lakes is better than it has ever been, and the catch ratio is up tremendously, so there will be more fatalities because of the number of fish we are catching.  I do understand there will be some loss when catching these numbers, but to kill our fish because members bend the rules and do not bend the barbs is completely unacceptable.  Remember, also, to carry at least two needle-nose pliers with you.  Let’s work together to make The Lakes of Danbury the best fishing facility in the country.
Jeff Stone with Skeeter Bass Boats and his son, Jarod.

DOT’S DATA

After that stern lecture from Jim, I’m going to go easy on you guys.   I appreciate your patience during our move to Danbury.  I apologize for not being in the office as much as I should, but now I am back in my old routine.  Remember to always leave a message on the answering machine for your reservations.  You will probably only be called back if we have any questions or changes for you.  My only other comment is signing in on the register, especially your guests, so that we can read the name and spell it correctly.  Also, please call if you are canceling your reservation.  This allows other members to have access to your lake and boat.  Remember that the cabin is available for rental and you also have access to the pavilion, which would be great for family outings.  Summer is just about here so bring the family and have fun.   See you all at The Lakes and stay safe.

Phil Pruitt enjoyed a day of fishing with his brother, member Wayne Pruitt, while teaching him the art of Carolina rig fishing.  Unfortunately, for the Pruitt brothers, Jim kicked “butt” in a two hour friendly fishing competition.

From the Living Bible, Proverbs 3:21-26

“Have two goals:  wisdom—that is, knowing and doing right—and common sense.  Don’t let them slip away, for they fill you with living energy, and are a feather in your cap.  They keep you safe from defeat and disaster and from stumbling off the trail.  With them on guard you can sleep without fear; you need not be afraid of disaster or the plots of wicked men, for the Lord is with you: he protects you.”
